KGB presents Compression LA @ Sullivan Room
KGB brings Compression LA to NY.
Starting in 2005, Compression was started to bring the fresh sounds of techno to Hollywood in a way that was accessible and highlighted the artists who created the sounds as we know them today as well as new talent that were rising quickly, reinventing the sounds of the dance floor. Starting with Juan Atkins and then quickly having Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson in the first few shows set the stage for eventually hosting Richie Hawtin, Steve Bug, Adam Beyer, Josh Wink as well as emerging artists like Nick Curly, Paco Osuna, Joel Mull, and more. With the resident DJs Robtronik, Luis Rosario, Matt Xavier, Andre Ezer, Miss Sabado, Meeshel, and more, over the years, Compression has helped pushed the sounds of minimal, house, & techno into the forefront of the U.S. dance scene while also being recognized worldwide for its musical mission. Currently Compression is embarking on launching a music label, Compression Music, hosting a regular night in Los Angeles, while also having its resident DJs travel the world, further spreading its musical mission of techno and house evangelism.
