Fall foliage only appears for a very short time, so get out and enjoy the fascinating and unique scenery of the Shawangunk Ridge and the beautiful fall scenery on this Level II+ hike with hearty cardio and off trail
hiking! The hike is approximately 8 miles and includes walking on both carriageways and single track foot paths. We'll start the hike at the main lake and then we'll hike along the lake toward a scenic mountain ridge. We'll hike
down into 2 valleys and up the other side. We'll pass by a hidden entrance to a cave where cold winds blow through at temps 10 - 15 degrees below the outside air temperature! If you stand there long enough you might even see bats!

Then we'll hike out along the ridge which has spectacular views of the valley below!
Thermals are created by these ridges and often times eagles & hawks soar by so close you can just about reach out and touch them! Here we will stop for a 10 min. break as you take in the unique and astounding views of the valley and the ridge which has been created over millions of years. We will move at a moderate pace throughout the day to ensure a cardio workout.

After the hike we'll head to town for a hearty lunch at a local restaurant where vegetarian dishes are available.
Then we will spend the rest of the afternoon at a wonderfully charming farm where you will be whisked back to childhood as you go apple & pumpkin picking! They also have a wonderful country bakery whereyou can purchase: Apple Cake, Brownies, Homemade Apple Cider, Fresh Pies, Squash, Gourds, Honey, Maple Syrup, Jams, Jellies, Spreads, Preserves and Mums.
