Best home work outs? Canceling my Gym ...

Post by Meister on Thu Apr 10, 2008 10:45 am

I am canceling my gym because I no longer have a way to get there ... what's the best things to pick up at like sports authority or something to work out at home?

I was going to start with some 35 lb free weights and a decent bench to do sit-ups ... help me out!

You dont need a bench to do situps but if you really want one get an adjustable bench that goes from incline to decline. Free weights are great but you may need a few sets to do various workouts.

Home gym workouts

Post by doctorfeelgood08 on Fri May 02, 2008 3:13 pm

Depending on what your goals are and how cordinated you are you can start out with a stabilty ball (inflated ball most people ony do crunchs on) some simple band tubing( I use JC Bands from Perform Better with my clients) and a medicine ball. Your body has no idea what a BODY MASTER , ICARIAN or any of the other brands out there in the gym world are, the only thing it knows and cares about is stress and resistance to movement. You can change the intensity of an excercise by simply putting your body in diffrent positions and varying the angles of ressitance. You can even start by doing simple push ups, to make them harder lift one foot off the ground, this puts more stress on your upper body. You can also change hand positions or use a diffrent surface area like the stability ball. The best Part is you can start your home gym for less than $200 and use the money you were wasting on your membership to pay off some bills. Some good sites to go to for equipment are Powersystems.com and Performbetter .com( some of my mentors even have newsleters and sugestions on the site ) Good luck and congradulation on your emancipation from the gym rut.
